Bruce Gjovig is no stranger to pioneering and innovation in business. The founder of UND’s Center of Innovation joined MacTalk to discuss his latest writing project which chronicles agricultural innovation in northwest Minnesota and North Dakota.
While on the subject of innovation Bruce, a native of western North Dakota, proudly recounts the petroleum extraction revolution that began in the Bakken which has made the United States an energy exporter and changed strategic equations for the nation. However, he’s most excited about current efforts underway in the Bakken to continue that extraction revolution by extracting a higher percentage of petroleum from the shale in the Bakken.
John Lotysz formed half of “The Low Down” radio show that aired on KNOX-AM in Grand Forks with the other half being his son Greg. John joined MacTalk to discuss his fight with prostate cancer and to give every man some advice relative to prostate health.
With the mass shooting in Las Vegas so recent in our memory, we’ll talk to John (an avid gun owner and hunter) about his thoughts on current discussions about new gun legislation.
Lot’s of parents struggle with how to approach youth suicide when it rocks a community. Bill Chase is a longtime counselor in the Grand Forks School District and South Middle School, he joined us to talk about some basic advice for parents as they attempt to broach such a delicate subject.
